Bio: Minna Tuulikki Louhelainen (née Pöntinen)

I was born 30.7.1984 in Helsinki, Finland. Our family moved to Mikkeli in 1987. From there I moved to Kuopio in 2000 to enroll in an International Baccalaureate high school. I graduated from the IB program of Kuopion Lyseon Lukio in 2003.

In 2003 I wanted to try something different, and decided on private entrepreneurship. I founded Morgana Designs, the label which I use to sell everything I make: art and various hand-made goods, such as jewellery, clothes and small home decor. I also took the authorized translators' exam and became an authorized translator (from English to Finnish).

I spent the spring term of 2004 as a physics student in the university of Kuopio. However, physics didn't interest me enough, and I applied to med school. I got in and spent the next four years agonizing over whether my career choice was the right one or not.

In 2008 I graduated as a bachelor of medicine. Shortly afterwards I made up my mind: medicine wasn't the right career choice for me as it made me quite unhappy, and I was unfit for general university life with its rigid schedules. I decided to quit med school and start working with Morgana D. full-time.

In 2012 I participated in the Lahti Institute of Fine Arts' entrance exam, and - seriously surprisingly - got in. I graduated as a visual artist in 2016, with a focus in printmaking.
